Examples from the corrected workbook

Three practical
decisions to compare.

Illustrative module examples.
Replace the numbers with your own assumptions.

On smaller screens, scroll within each preview to inspect the full table.

1. Compare tuition choices

Tuition sensitivity table showing collected revenue at price changes from minus 10 percent to plus 20 percent
With $120 nominal tuition, 90 expected students and a 2% collection reduction, a 5% increase adds $529.20 in monthly collected revenue. A 0% increase gives $0 change. Enrollment stays constant in this example.

2. Check class contribution and capacity

Class results with a separate exceeds capacity warning for an illustrative two-student class
This separate class example has two students, $65 allocated collected tuition per student, $195 fixed class costs and $3 variable cost per student. Break-even needs four students, above the class capacity of two. Valid inputs can still describe an unviable class.

3. Budget the recital and costumes

Recital budget results showing revenue, costume purchases, contingency reserve and estimated net outcome
The recital example totals $18,350 revenue, $10,400 costs before reserve and a $1,040 contingency reserve, leaving $6,910 estimated net. This event view is separate from regular studio operating profit.

BUDGET

Dance studio budget template

Keep a valid annual plan when future actuals are blank. Compare aggregate monthly actual revenue and expenses with the plan. Annual actuals require all 12 months; this is not category-level bookkeeping.

TUITION

Tuition pricing planner

The dance studio tuition calculator worksheet compares current and proposed collected revenue on the same collection assumptions. Review fee increases and discounts while holding enrollment constant.

CLASSES

Dance studio class profitability

Review direct class contribution, instructor cost per session and break-even capacity for a maximum of 12 classes. Allocate collected tuition once across classes. Shared overhead is not automatically allocated.

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment & owner-pay scenarios

Keep current enrollment, annual expected students and target enrollment distinct. Compare operating coverage and desired owner compensation before personal tax.

RECITAL

Dance recital budget template

Plan fees, tickets, expected costume collections, purchases and contingency. Purchased and charged costume quantities share the same participant/count assumption. Inventory and unpaid balances are not tracked.

SUMMARY

Summary & written plan

Trace the linked financial results and input notices. The bonus dance studio business plan template worksheet records decisions; it is not a lender-ready financial model or automatic business diagnostic.

Where the planner fits

The free dance studio profitability calculator gives you a monthly enrollment target, including owner pay. The Profit Planner adds tuition sensitivity, class contribution and recital budgeting, with supporting annual budget and enrollment views.

The annual plan assumes constant expected students and tuition billing in the first N months from January. Fixed costs continue all year; student-variable costs occur in billed months. A September–June season or off-season costs may have different timing. This is a planning workbook, not a seasonal cash-flow forecast, billing system or comprehensive bookkeeping package.

Class contribution is after direct class costs and before shared overhead. Owner compensation is a before-personal-tax target. Recital contingency is a planning reserve; refundable deposits are cash outlays rather than expenses unless forfeited. Clear worked instructions cover those distinctions and transferring collected tuition from the free calculator without applying discounts twice.

Can I enter every class in a large studio?

The Classes worksheet supports 12 rows. It does not promise automatic expansion to a larger schedule. The other modules use aggregate studio assumptions and are not an attendance or class administration system.

Does this replace dance school billing software?

No. Use actual billing and bookkeeping records as your source of truth. The dance school billing software comparison covers operational systems; this planner helps compare financial assumptions.

How will I get my own Google Sheets copy?

The private delivery guide contains the native template copy link. It creates a separate file in your Google account; the shared template is view-only. Formula cells use edit warnings that a copy owner can override. The owner confirmed independent-account customer-copy testing, editable inputs, formula warnings and a View only master.

What does the example data represent?

Illustrative calculations, not financial benchmarks or a forecast for your studio. Replace the inputs and review the model limits. No financial outcome is guaranteed.
